Payday Loan laws Still Favor Loan Companies

Legilation

Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, and on and on, states are failing in enforcing any legislature created to protect borrowers of short term, high interest payday loans as for whatever reason payday loan laws favor loan companies first and customers end up loosing out.

These loan companies are alive and well, and growing in numbers.

329 payday loan companies in Louisiana operate a mind boggling 965 locations and this is just in one of the above states.

Missouri has more payday loan companies than both McDonald’s and Starbucks stores put together, and they are opening more every day.

Add in the uncountable number of online payday loan companies available to people and the only answer to combat them from getting caught in a payday loan trap is to educate the public.

State lawmakers are falling like dominos in the payday loan business.

Payday loans in Columbus Ohio and the rest of the state may have been influenced by State Rep. Dan Mallory, says Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien.

Investigators have been taking a good look at his activities involving these companies.

Prosecutors are looking into the activities of  John Rabenold, a lobbyist for the payday lending companies.

More and more lawmakers are under pressure to quit backing short term high-interest companies, and when information turns up of corruption and gift giving in return fro support the gavel is going to be falling and falling hard.

Minnesota payday loans may get another hit in the state if Governor Dayton has his way.

Even though the Minnesota house of representatives just passed bill HF2293 Dayton says more needs to be done.

The Governor is urging the State laws makers to think in terms of protecting the people of the state and not the economic health of the payday loan companies.
